For animals to be registered with the Canadian Shire Horse Association
Complete front and back of CSHA registration form and return to secretary.
Fees for DNA and registration to be paid to CSHA at this time. The fee is
$20.00 for registration, and $60.00 for the DNA.
The secretary will generate a DNA test kit sheet from VGL* web site,
and send to the owner with the appropriate import number and envelope.
The applicant will affix the hair sample to the test kit and send it to VGL.
VGL will complete the analysis of the DNA, do parent verification, and send
the results to the secretary of the CSHA. (This will all be done electronically).
Your registration will be processed and sent to you.
Please note that you cannot reuse the DNA form for more than one animal
as it has a bar code number printed on it that is assigned to each animal.
*VGL is our new testing lab in Davis, California.
*IMPORTANT NOTICE!*
If you sell a horse to someone in the United States, please check the regulations for border crossing. They have recently changed and continue to change. It is now necessary to have a broker to help with the paper work.
